Fiction Writing for All

So, you know that you want to write, but the question is, what? Whether you’re a seasoned writer, or just interested in trying it out , this course will help you get words on the page that you’re proud of writing!For this course, you don’t need to prepare any work, everything will be written in class and you’ll come away with plenty of works you can develop independently.What you’ll need to bring:A laptop, notebook, typewriter, or whatever your preferred writing method is.How the session will be structured:The session will be about two topics, Beginnings, and Descriptions.Each topic they will cover for an hour, where they’ll look at examples and theory which will develop their understanding and possibilities for your own work. Within each topic there will be three prompts where you will write creatively. By the end of the session, you’ll come away having done all 6 prompts.What they’ll cover in the Beginnings portion:How to craft an opening which intrigues your audienceHow editing with a critical eye can help you decide where your story startsHow to bond the reader with the protagonistThen, in descriptions:How words clarify our understandingHow to described things unconventionallyA short meditative task on describing something you have with you or in front of you
